About

Do you have an associate in applied science (AAS) degree? Are you looking for a program that is flexible and tailored to your specific career goals? Are you transferring from a community college?

The industrial technology program prepares technical- and/or management-oriented professionals for employment in business, industry, education, and government whose duties and responsibilities primarily involve the management, operation, and maintenance of complex technological systems. The curriculum has a strong emphasis in management, which allows the graduate to function well in either technical or decision-making career fields. Students develop a combination of technical, business and communication skills that allow them to succeed and lead in their respective disciplines.

Our industrial technology program offers eight different concentrations, six of which can be completed entirely online. Concentrations include information and computer technology, industrial supervision, manufacturing systems, distribution and logistics, bioprocess manufacturing, health information technologies, architectural technology and mechanical technology.

Please note that our online option is designed for part-time enrollment of one to two courses per term though more courses can be taken if seats are available. Online classes are delivered via state-of-the-art teaching tools such as BlackBoard, CENTRA, Moodle, and more.

ECU Advantage

The industrial technology program allows students to use their technical or industrial associate in applied science (AAS) degree to complete up to half of their bachelor of science degree at ECU. Students in this program experience flexibility of curriculum as well as time. The degree can be completed entirely online or on-campus, as well as part-time or full-time. Students can choose from eight different concentrations based on their career interests and goals.

The industrial technology program is dual-accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The faculty in this program ensures that graduates are prepared to enter management and leadership positions immediately after graduation and succeed in their careers. Graduates from this program can expect to earn $10,000+ a year more than they would with their AAS degree alone.
